With every tick of the biological clock, the reproductive biology in a woman's body suffers a set back. As compared to her 20s and early 30s, getting pregnant after 35 becomes difficult, if not impossible. Even the healthiest of women are subject to a natural decline in fertility levels. Their ability to sustain pregnancy is at risk. Huge strides have been made in the medical field in troubleshooting both.

Although the phrase of my biological clock is ticking has some merit to it, the pregnancies of "women over 35" is not surprising as it used to be decades ago. However, even women who keep themselves very healthy are subject to a normal descent in fertility ability. Advances have been achieved in the health area in tackling the issues.

Find out what can be done to improve fertility for women 35 years of age or older. Pregnancy after becoming 35 years is truly achievable. So naturally getting older isn't a roadblock anymore to enjoy the happiness of becoming a mother.

"Infertility and your Age"

Fertility is the natural ability of giving birth. For women over 35 years old, infertility is lowered to not being able to conceive and deliver a child even after six months of unprotected sexual intercourse instead of the usual twelve months. There are different reasons and factors that affect infertility.

The ovaries play a vital role in a woman's reproductive system. Ovaries are the pair of reproductive organs that produce eggs and sex hormones in females. The function of ovaries is linked to a woman's age. As a woman gets older, her ovary's ability to create normal, healthy eggs deceases. The result is she is probably less fertile than woman who is younger than she is.

As women increase in age, particularly while in the age group of 35 to 39 years, fertility declines quickly. The blood flow to the ovaries lessens and the egg quality and amount is hampered. The opportunity to become pregnant suffers a lot. Moreover, health issues rise, ovulation becomes sporadic, lower progesterone and estrogen levels and chances of chromosomal irregularities are larger.

Remedies for Fluctuating Hormones: An imbalance of estrogen and progesterone hormones can cause infertility and can be treated by a reproductive endocrinologist or a fertility doctor who has experience in diagnosing low hormone levels.

Additional health problems: Uterine irregularities and fibroid tumors are medical problems that contribute to infertility. Furthermore, women over 35 years are more likely to be diagnosed with endometriosis. It is a medical problem whereby the tissue becomes attached to the fallopian tubes or ovaries, the area between the uterus and ovaries. Problems with the fallopian tube can cause infertility. If the fallopian tubes are not operating well, the eggs are not able to travel from the ovary to the uterus which is a barrier in conception.

Disorders in Ovulation: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most typical cause of ovulation disorders. Around fifty to eighty percent of women with PCOS have fertility issues.

How to Improve Fertility

Women need to realize and acknowledge that their body being healthy is the key to successful pregnancy. Heath experts recommend that a female's body reacts very well to conception when everything is at its peak level.

A way to get this into gear is to begin with your everyday schedule. You'll need to alter your diet to incorporate for exercise, diet, travel time, relaxation methods, and spending quality time with your mate, adjust your sleep pattern, and more. You should weed out things not contributing to optimal health like fatty foods, smoking, and consumption of alcohol or caffeine.

By attempting to what you can you will certainly help you chances. While it is true, some infertility issues can't be reversed. Although, with diligent attention to general health can stop other problems from occurring, enhance fertility so that possibilities of conception become better and the body starts to get prepared for pregnancy.

Hi Kathleen,

Thanks for posting. Well with our life expectancy rising due to being healthier why shouldn't giving birth later rise too.
